Studying the process of keeping and discarding ideas this week was paramount to my change of premise. At the start of the week I was still trying to decide whether to swap but after reading Mukherjee talk about the “Tingle of engagement entertainment and the promise of something profound” I realised that I got that tingle with this idea so I followed my instincts and re-did the outline and premise.
I am glad to have a chance to get feedback at this stage as I enjoyed writing the treatment and I want to make it the best I possibly can. I’m excited to start writing dialogue for the characters as they are now more defined in my mind. This way of forming an idea into a structured blueprint makes sense to me and I have started to think more deeply about my characters now, which is preparing me to write their dialogue. I’m excited to get to the next stage of the scriptwriting process.
