The New Year always brings a sense of renewal – a chance to shed the old and embrace a racing new start (yes I know it’s April but I’ve had a lot on!). For me, 2026 is about consolidation. I’m taking everything I have learned about filmmaking and screenwriting over the last few years and distilling those lessons into clear goals for the future of Evalution Media.

A Look Back to Move Forward
Launching this updated website is a significant milestone. Migrating the blog archive gave me a chance to revisit my previous work, some of which dates back to the first term of my MA in June 2020. It is incredibly rewarding to see how far this journey has come, evolving from academic theory into active industry production.
In posts like Term 2 begins, I outlined my professional goals, focusing on industry career paths, subverting female tropes in screenwriting, and developing the premise for my modern-day musical film, Melody seeks… Looking back from 2026, it’s exciting to see that original 2021 treatment finally progressing. I have found the perfect lead for the role of Melody, and we will be collaborating on the script.
This ‘Evalution,’ from learning how to craft a synopsis to building a portfolio for agents, reminds me that storytelling is a lifelong craft. There is always room to learn, and I am leaning into that growth.
What’s on the Slate for 2026?
This year, my focus is on creating tangible value for the creative community. You can expect to see:
- Film and TV Analysis: Deep dives into storytelling structures and technical execution.
- Expanded “How-To” Guides: I am refreshing my popular guides with professional insights gained in the field. Look out for new resources on formatting micro-short scripts, navigating production legalities, and effective pitch-deck design.
54321 Lights Camera Made: The 1-Page Script Competition
We are currently galloping towards the first 54321 Lights Camera Made (LCM) competition event! I am thrilled to be part of the process, helping to crown a winner and watching their script transition from the page to the screen.
At the event, I’ll also be teaching a “How-To” workshop, sharing practical tips for writers looking to make a massive impact with their storytelling.

Upcoming Productions and Pitches
On the production side, 2026 is shaping up to be a prolific year. I am currently assembling a triple-bill production that includes the stage play version of The Year Dot.
I am looking for two fellow playwrights to join the bill with their own 30-minute plays. If you have a script ready for the stage and are looking for a collaborative production opportunity, I would love to hear from you. Please reach out via my contact page with a brief synopsis of your work.
In addition to live theatre, I am actively pitching several screen projects:
- Surviving Somewhen (formerly Somewhen BCE) – A comedy sci-fi series.
- Neuropolis – A reality series.
- Skin Deep – A documentary feature.
Parallel to these pitches, I am sharpening my craft through new spec scripts. My goal is to bring my voice to an established Sci-Fi or Comedy writers’ room, gaining the high-level experience necessary to eventually lead my own productions as a show-runner.
Collaborate With Us: Guest Blogging
The relaunch is just the beginning. Phase 2 of the website will introduce a dedicated Network Page, featuring a curated list of crew and performance contacts to facilitate new industry connections.
I am also officially calling for guest bloggers! If you work in media, film, performance, or theatre and have a unique perspective or “lessons learned” to share, I want to hear from you. Contributing to the Evalution Media blog is a great way to reach a dedicated community of creators.
Looking Ahead…
Whether through the lens of a camera or the lines of a script, 2026 is about making ideas move. I’m grateful to have you along for the journey as we move from the “how-to” to the “doing.” Stay tuned for more updates, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re interested in collaborating!
