about Eva-Marie Wilshere
Eva-Marie Wilshere is a multi-faceted creative working across film, television, performance, and storytelling. She moves easily between factual television and fictional worlds, grounded in research, collaboration, and character-driven storytelling.
Eva works across directing, production, performance, teaching, choreography, and editing – with a trusted creative network.
Production
Eva has worked in the East Sussex media scene for over a decade. While studying at the University of Sussex, she wrote, produced, and directed her award-winning short film Local Girl (2014).
Upon graduating, she produced and edited programmes for Latest TV, Brighton’s local television channel. As a result, her documentary Homeless By The Sea (2017) became the channel’s most-watched video. This success led to her bi-monthly talk show Eva’s World (2017-2020), exploring complex social issues through open public dialogue.
Performance
Alongside screen work, Eva is an experienced performer, dancer, and movement specialist. She regularly appears in theatre, cabaret, and festivals across Brighton & Hove and beyond.
Additionally, she teaches performance and dance, choreographs for screen and stage, and integrates movement into her creative projects. In turn, her work blends physical storytelling seamlessly into both live and filmed productions.
scripts
After graduating with Distinction from Falmouth University’s Writing for Script and Screen MA, Eva developed The Year Dot (2022). The project won multiple awards, including the Birmingham Film & Television Festival and Cambridge University’s Watersprite Festival. It also earned the Lift-Off First-Time Screenwriter award and a table-read with Ben Pohlman at Pinewood Studios.
Eva writes science fiction and dark comedy with strong political and social undercurrents. She focuses on quirky, relatable, and diverse characters that invite empathy, reflection, and connection. Eva has a growing catalogue of scripts, with treatments available online and scripts provided on request.
